Abu Galum Nature Reserve Area
Abu Galum nature reserve area lies in south Sinai governorate overlooking the gulf of Aqaba , between Nuweiba city from north and Dahab City from South , away from Nuweiba city about 27 km.
It was named after the Al Qalum plant that spread in the area.
The total land area of Abu Galum is 400 km.
The roads leading to ِAbu Galum nature reserve area :
•The blue hall road by camels or on foot the length of that road is 7 km.
•Rasasa valley road by cars the length of that road is 27 km.
•The coastal road from Nuweiba city the length of that road is 27 km till the northern border.
Abu Galum charm
Abu Galum nature reserve area has its own topography where the mountains approach the beaches, it’s also famous for the existence of an underwater cave system, which extends to depths of up to more than 100 meters but it is not stable.
It contains diverse ecosystems of coral reefs, marine creatures, sea grass, desert and mountain valleys and environmental regulations that contains a lot of wild animals and birds and plants, it contains about 165 species of plants , and about 44 species of them are found only in this region.
